Facilities & Maintenance Manager Your new companyOur client is a well-established organisation operating within the retirement living and residential services sector. Known for delivering premium lifestyle environments and exceptional resident experiences, they are seeking an experienced facilities professional to lead the day-to-day property, maintenance and asset management functions across a large and vibrant community. This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on the presentation, functionality and long-term performance of a significant residential asset.
Your new roleReporting to senior leadership, you will take ownership of all property, maintenance, cleaning and grounds operations while ensuring a safe, compliant and welcoming environment for residents and visitors. This is a hands-on management position suited to someone who enjoys being out on-site, engaging with stakeholders, leading teams and driving high standards across a diverse property portfolio.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading and developing maintenance, cleaning and grounds teams to deliver exceptional service standards.
- Maintaining a robust on-site presence, conducting regular inspections and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Managing preventative maintenance programmes, asset life cycle planning and compliance activities.
- Coordinating contractors, suppliers and service providers to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
- Overseeing maintenance, refurbishment and improvement projects across the village.
- Developing operational procedures and maintenance standards.
- Managing budgets, resources and workforce planning activities.
- Ensuring regulatory, WHS and building compliance requirements are met.
- Identifying and delivering continuous improvement initiatives across facilities operations.
- Building strong relationships with residents, stakeholders and internal teams to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in Facilities Management, Property Operations, Building Services, Maintenance Management or a similar leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead maintenance, facilities or operational teams in a hands-on environment.
- Strong understanding of building maintenance, contractor management and preventative maintenance programmes.
- Experience managing large-scale residential, retirement living, hospitality, accommodation, healthcare, resort or multiservice environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to balance strategic asset planning with day-to-day operational delivery.
- Experience driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Relevant qualifications in Facilities Management, Building, Property, Engineering or Project Management would be highly regarded.
- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
