About the Role:

Caring Dads is an early intervention program developed in Canada by the University of Toronto and Changing Ways, for fathers who have physically abused, emotionally abused or neglected their children, or exposed their children to domestic violence or who are deemed to be at high-risk for these behaviours.

The Family Safety Advocate (FSA) role supports victim survivors of family violence through engaging family members where there is a person using violence participating in the Caring Dads intervention program. The primary focus of the role is to engage affected family members around risk assessment and management and overall safety.

The Family Safety Advocate provides support and establishes a relationship to ensure there is a point of contact for victim survivors to be provided ongoing assessment of risk and safety planning. This role is a central point of engagement between the interventions service and the victim survivor ensuring the victim survivor maintains a voice.

The ideal candidate will bring:

- Engage with the Caring Dads Clinical Practitioners through all stages to ensure safety and wellbeing for victim survivors.
- Experience providing risk assessment, management, and overall safety for clients.




- Experience working with external agencies to meet client and program needs.
- Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence | Working With Children Check | Police Check.
- Minimum requirement of Diploma of Community Services or other appropriate tertiary qualification/s and/or experience relevant to this position.
