About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Disability Support Worker to join the Happy Faces Disability Support team in Lavington NSW. This is a casual position offering flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of people with disabilities. You will provide person-centred support to clients, helping them achieve their goals and participate actively in their communities.

This role is essential to our mission of enabling individuals to live with dignity, independence and choice.

Key responsibilities

- Provide direct personal care and support to clients with disabilities, assisting with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, dressing and mobility
- Support clients in community engagement, social activities and recreational pursuits tailored to their individual interests and goals
- Assist clients with shopping, meal preparation and household management tasks
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, social events and community activities, providing appropriate support and advocacy
- Maintain accurate and timely records of support provided and report on client progress and any concerns to supervisors




- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, carers and team members to ensure continuity of care
- Work collaboratively with the wider support team to develop and implement individualised support plans
- Promote client independence, choice and dignity in all interactions and support activities
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and health and safety practices
- Respond to client needs with compassion, patience and professionalism

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a disability support worker or in a similar care-giving role within aged care, community services or disability support
- A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities and a commitment to person-centred care principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
- Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- A valid driver's licence and reliable access to transport, as you may be required to travel to support clients in the Lavington area
- Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain accreditation




- Physical capability to assist clients with mobility and personal care tasks
- Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to work according to client needs and support schedules
- Desirable: Certificate III in Disability Support or relevant qualifications in health, aged care or community services
- Availability for set shifts, 6am-2:15pm, 2:00pm-10:00pm, 2:00pm-10:00pm (into sleepover the finishes at 06:00am) and 10:00pm-6:15am.
- We also have shifts 9am-3pm Monday to Friday.
