Come join our team as a Family Practitioner and keep families together The Family Practitioner - Functional Family Therapy - Child Wellbeing (FFT - CW) is a role within OzChild to strengthen the benefit of services to children, young people and their families in specified areas utilising an evidence informed program. FFT-CW® is designed to improve family dynamics and functioning, strengthen communication and supportiveness while decreasing intense negativity and dysfunctional patterns of behaviour impacting on children and young people's safety, wellbeing and stability.

The evidence informed program has been developed to support families, with children from birth to 17 years, in the home who are at risk of abuse and neglect and or being placed in out of home care . This service provides families with structured training, implementation of problem-solving strategies, support to identify community-based resources and the review of outcomes.

The program is facilitated by experienced and suitably qualified therapists who help identify strengths and challenges within the family behaviours, developing effective strategies for changing them within the family system To be successful in this role OzChild will provide the highest standard of comprehensive training in this evidence-based model to the successful candidate and ongoing intensive support.

What a successful candidate looks likeBachelor qualification in Counselling, Social Work, Family Therapy or Psychology or relevant discipline

· Previous experience in a therapeutic environment ideally utilising recognised therapy practices such as CBT

· Knowledge and experience working within the out of home care sector would be highly regarded

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships and rapport with families and young people & your team

· In depth knowledge and understanding of the principles and challenges of supporting vulnerable families, understanding of the broad range of issues impacting on the community services sector

· Intermediate computer skills, including the MS Office suite

· Must have a driver’s license and car, with comprehensive insurance

OzChild offers:

Full time permanent role

- SCHADS 5-6 depending on experience $100,776.00 - $ 110,102,72 plus super
