Financial Adviser

Advising the top end of Australian business owners. Remote, anywhere in Australia.

Most adviser jobs are not limited by the adviser. They are limited by the clients they serve. Who you would be advising

Seven and eight figure Australian service businesses. Owner operated, usually a couple, usually with school age kids and a business that has quietly become the only asset they own.

Some context on how narrow that group is. There are about 2.7 million actively trading businesses in Australia. Fewer than one in ten clears $2 million of turnover, and only about one in fifty clears $10 million. Just over a third employ anybody at all. The owners of the ones that do are a small and specific cohort, and most advisers spend an entire career without one on their book. We have 700 active clients across the group which is growing at a fast pace.

What that means for the work The problems are structural, not product. Entity structures that grew by accident and now cost money every year. A business worth millions with no plan for converting it into anything a family can actually live on. We deal directly with the owner who cannot tell you what enough looks like, because nobody has ever asked them.

You will model it properly. Every strategy is built in RetireMap, base case first, so you show a client three scenarios live in the meeting instead of promising to come back next week. Advice documents are written by a paraplanning team. Research, Associate Adviser & Implementation sit in their own lane. What you own is the thinking and the relationship, which is the part that is actually hard.

Why they come to us

Our cause is helping families find freedom beyond their business, and in this division it reduces to one line: business success means nothing if it does not create family wealth. They are looking for an advisory solution they haven't been able to find anywhere else.

It is why I am hiring for the long relationship rather than the fast start, and why the top of this market suits a careful adviser rather than a loud one. An owner with a $10 million business does not change advisers casually and does not forgive sloppiness.

What you would own The full advice relationship, not support for someone else's. A set of existing ongoing client relationships transfers with the seat, so you are not starting from zero, and current client flow is routed to you from our own marketing.

Every client moves through the same Aureus Proven Process, from the welcome call meeting to the Annual Game Plan Review. It is written down and it is followed by all, so you inherit a method instead of inventing one.

How remote works here

Remote means remote. Not a perk with a catch, and not a trial that quietly becomes three days in the office. We were remote before COVID hit. We want the best talent and won't be limited to where people live.

Client meetings run on Zoom, which is how most of our clients already prefer it, and meetings are recorded so the file note and the client recap are drafted the same evening. Paraplanning, research, implementation and client services all work the same way, so you are not the only person on a screen. You will have the opportunity to speak every week to Head of Wealth and the team, properly, about your clients.

We would want you here in Caringbah once a year for our offsite, travel & accommodation covered.

What we actually value

Four values, and each one has a behaviour attached so you can decide now whether you would enjoy working this way.

Own the outcome. The standard we walk past is the standard we accept. A client email lands that is not yours, you make sure it has an owner and a date. You find an error in a strategy paper, you fix it or you flag it, and you never assume the reviewer will catch it.

Go above and beyond. Clients never chase us. If they are chasing, we have already failed. You bring the thing they did not ask about, because most of our clients have never been asked the hard hitting questions.

Get **it done. The ninety day clock from Kick Off to advice delivery is a promise with a date on it, not an aspiration that quietly extends. File notes and summary's inside twenty four hours. The next meeting booked before you leave the current one.

Win together. Triple wins, meaning the client wins, the team wins and the business wins. No exceptions.

About the partnership part, honestly

I want this seat to become an ownership conversation. I am not going to dress that up as more than it is today.

We are designing a partnership model for the Wealth division now. The seat is being hired with that model in mind.

The deal, both ways

What I expect from you. Own the outcome, including the ones nobody assigned you. Every file owned, dated and moving. Clients answered inside twenty four hours, every time. File notes and summary of meeting inside twenty four hours.

Anything that smells like a breach, a complaint or a data incident escalated the same day.

What you can expect from me. A written twelve week on-ramp with a gate every three weeks, not a desk and good luck. Your scorecard and your standard workload on day one, not at week twelve. Feedback every month in both directions, from a leader who does not cancel or postpone meetings.

Full visibility of the division numbers and the targets behind them, the same numbers we work off. Every system taught against a real client by a named person on a date. Advice quality treated as a shared responsibility rather than a compliance trap.

And a share in the outcome we created.

What success looks like in the first year

- The clients you inherit are still here, and they say the handover was the smoothest part of their year
- Advice files that clear internal review with nothing critical

- An average client rating of 9 and NPS above 8.5, the standard every adviser here is held to
- A book you have grown, with new clients taken from first meeting to implemented plan
- At least one thing in our process improved because you pushed on it

What you need

- 3-5 years advising retail clients, with your own relationships to point to
- Registered as a relevant provider on the ASIC Financial Advisers Register, qualifications standard met, financial adviser exam passed, CPD current

- Real fluency across superannuation, retirement, investment and tax legislation, and enough structural knowledge to hold a conversation about trusts, companies and business value without reaching for a specialist every time
- Clean disciplinary and audit history, and comfort with a reference check to your current licensee
- A private space to hold client conversations and a connection that holds up on video

- Writing that a client can read once and act on

What you get $130,000 base, plus a share of the profit of the book you manage, paid quarterly.

- Remote permanently, anywhere in Australia, travel covered when we get together
- Leave: Standard annual leave and monthly ADO
- A team behind every client: research, paraplanning, implementation and a concierge. You are not getting an assistant, you are joining an advice engine
- Complete tech stack that is actually maintained
- A licensee that is us. When you need a decision on a piece of advice you speak to the owners of the business, and you get an answer the same day rather than a ticket number
