Take ownership of finance across a diverse and growing hospitality group

Zenith Hotels is seeking an experienced, commercially minded Financial Controller to lead the day-to-day financial operations of our multi-venue hospitality group.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role based at our Rydalmere office, with overall responsibility for the financial control, integrity and performance reporting of the Group. You will take ownership of our finance function - strengthening financial governance, maintaining robust controls and translating complex financial information into clear commercial insights that support sound decision-making.

Reporting directly to the Directors, you will act as a trusted financial adviser to the business and work closely with senior leaders, venue management, the accounts team and external finance partners. You will provide the Directors with confidence that the Group’s financial position is accurately understood, risks are identified and managed, and reporting is timely, reliable and commercially meaningful.

With oversight spanning hotels, restaurants, gaming, accommodation and investment entities, this is an influential role at the centre of a diverse and growing hospitality group.

What you’ll be responsible for

- Overseeing weekly and monthly financial reporting across multiple venues and entities
- Reviewing payroll, wages, sales, banking, cash variances and venue reporting for accuracy and anomalies
- Managing month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, journals, clearing accounts and management reports
- Managing the Group’s insurance portfolio, ensuring all company insurance policies provide appropriate coverage and remain current, accurate and up to date
- Reviewing accounts payable, supplier payments,

invoice coding and general ledger integrity
- Monitoring cash flow and coordinating the movement of funds across business accounts
- Analysing wages, cost of goods, gross profit, stocktake results and operating expenses
- Preparing budgets, forecasts, cash-flow information and financial commentary
- Coordinating BAS, IAS, payroll tax, superannuation, gaming tax and other statutory obligations
- Supporting annual financial statements, tax returns, insurance renewals and year-end audit requirements
- Completing bank covenant reporting and supporting banking and finance relationships
- Maintaining effective financial controls across gaming payouts, unclaimed tickets, credit cards, merchant facilities and POS systems
- Identifying financial, operational and compliance risks and ensuring appropriate actions are followed through
- Partnering with venue managers to improve their understanding of wages, costs and overall financial performance
- Supporting business improvement projects, potential acquisitions, valuations and capital expenditure analysis
- Leading, supporting and developing the internal account’s function while coordinating effectively with external finance providers

About you You are an experienced finance professional who combines strong technical capability with commercial curiosity and a practical, hands-on approach. Experience within hospitality, hotels, gaming, retail or another multi-site operational business would be highly advantageous.

Familiarity with NetSuite, Lightyear, Deputy and hospitality POS or gaming systems would also be beneficial.

You will ideally bring

- Previous experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similarly senior finance role
- A relevant accounting qualification, with CA or CPA qualifications highly regarded
- Strong experience with management reporting, budgeting, cash flow, reconciliations and financial controls
- The ability to identify errors, investigate variances and confidently challenge information that doesn’t look right
- Experience operating across multiple entities, business units or locations
- Strong Excel skills and confidence learning and navigating financial and operational systems
- Excellent attention to detail without losing sight of the broader commercial picture
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly to operational leaders
- A proactive, solutions-focused style and the confidence to take ownership
- The ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced and wide-ranging environment

Why join Zenith Hotels? This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact within a diverse hospitality group. You will have visibility across the business, direct access to operational and senior leaders, and the scope to improve systems, strengthen controls and shape how financial information supports business decisions.

You’ll join a business that values people who are engaged, accountable and committed to working as one team.

If you are a capable financial leader who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, solving problems and helping operational teams achieve stronger results, we would love to hear from you.
