About the role: Join The Buttery as our First Nations Intake Officer and become a trusted first point of contact for people seeking support for alcohol and other drug use, mental health concerns and wellbeing. In this role, you will help ensure people feel heard, respected and culturally safe from their very first interaction with our service. You will use your administration skills, cultural understanding and trauma-informed approach to support individuals, families and communities to access the right support at the right time.

While there are some face-to-face meetings, the majority of your work is on the phone or via email.

Hours and location: The hours are 35 per week from Monday to Friday. Start and finishing times are flexible with a standard office hours. The role is based predominantly onsite at Binna Burra, near Bangalow. A flexible arrangement of working from home day per week is available after the initial six week training period. It is funded until June 2027, with strong potential for extension as part of our expanding community services

$$$: This role will be remunerated at SCHCDS Level 4 ($46-50ph) plus generous salary packaging perks that can increase your take-home pay by approximately $5,000 annually.

1. Evidence of Aboriginality in accordance with Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act
2. Degree in Mental Health, Psychology or Social Work or relevant discipline
3. Current driver's licence, a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check
4. Experience of intake and assessment role requirements with an understanding of AOD and Mental Health support needs
