We are seeking a technically minded Flexible Film Technician to join an established global packaging manufacturer at its Adelaide manufacturing facility.

This is not simply a machine-operating role. You will work across new product development, materials, manufacturing trials and process improvement, taking ideas from initial development through testing and into production.

What you'll be doing

- Develop and improve versatile packaging products and materials
- Run and coordinate manufacturing and product trials
- Work with plastics, polymers, film and laminate structures
- Support new products from development through to production
- Troubleshoot material, quality and manufacturing issues
- Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, sustainability and reduce waste
- Manage technical projects from initial concept through to implementation
- Work closely with R&D;, Production, Engineering, Quality, Planning and Commercial teams
- Liaise with suppliers and customers on technical requirements
- Conduct testing and maintain accurate trial and development records

What we're looking for You don't necessarily need to come from an identical role. We are particularly interested in people with backgrounds in R&D;, product development, packaging, plastics, polymers or materials.

Ideally, you will bring:

- R&D; and/or product development experience within manufacturing
- Practical knowledge of plastics, polymers or packaging materials
- Experience running manufacturing or product trials
- Exposure to flexible film, blown film,



extrusion, lamination, injection moulding or blow moulding would be highly regarded
- Ability to manage technical projects from beginning to end
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- A practical, hands-on approach
- Confidence working independently and across multiple departments
- An engineering, polymer, chemical, materials, plastics or packaging qualification would be advantageous, but relevant industry experience is equally important

Candidates currently working as a Packaging Technologist, Packaging Specialist, R&D; Technologist, Product Development Technologist, Product Development Engineer, Polymer Technologist, Plastics Technologist, Materials Engineer, Chemical Engineer or Process Development Engineer are encouraged to apply.
