CIRCL GROUP
Kingscliff
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Expression of Interest
Circlis looking for a CFO who wants to help build something significant.
We are a rapidly scaling, technology-led field services groupoperatingacross Australia and New Zealand, with ambitious plans for the next three years and beyond.
Our growth strategy is deliberately aggressive. It combines strong organic growth, strategic acquisitions, continued investment in proprietary technology and, ultimately, preparingthe Group for a major liquidity event — potentially including an ASX listing.
We are looking for the financial leader who can help us get there.
But thisisn’ta traditional corporate CFO role.
We want an operator, not an administrator.
AtCircl, our executive teamoperatesclose to the truth.
Wedon’tmanage businesses through layers of people,presentationsand monthly reports. We get into the detail, understandwhat’sactually happening, make decisions quickly and take ownership of the outcome.
Our CFO needs tooperatethe same way.
You’llneed to be capable of sitting with the Board discussing capital strategy,acquisitionsand a future listing — and then getting into the numbers yourself to understand why a business unit missed margin last week.
Strategic enough to help shape wherewe’regoing. Hands-on enough to know exactlywhat’shappening today.
Ifyou’relooking for a large finance department underneath you, thisprobably isn’tthe role.
If you love building systems, using technology and AI toeliminateunnecessary administration, getting close to commercialperformanceand creating a finance function that can scale significantly without scaling headcount at the same rate — keep reading.
The opportunity
You’lljoinCircl’sExecutive Leadership Team atan important pointin our journey.
Over the next three years, we intend to materially increase the scale and value of the Group through a combination of:
- significant organic growth;
- strategic acquisitions and integration;
- expansion of our national service capability;
- continued development and commercialisation of our proprietary technology;
- disciplined improvement in margins, cash generation and financial performance;
- strengthening our capital structure and funding capability; and
- preparing the organisation for a future liquidity event, potentially including an ASX listing.
Youwon’tinherit a finished finance function.
You’llhelp build the one we need for wherewe’regoing.
Whatyou’llown
As CFO,you’llhave executive responsibility for the financial performance, financialinfrastructureand capital strategy ofCirclGroup.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Own the numbers — revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, working capital, cashflowand return on capital.
- Develop clear, real-time visibility of performance across the Group, its divisions,contractsand major clients.
- Identifywherewe’remaking money, wherewe’relosing it, whyit’shappening and whatwe’regoing to do about it.
- Work directly with the CEO, COO, CCO and operational leaders to improve commercial performance.
- Challenge assumptions.
- Understand contract economics, pricing, labour models, supplier costs, utilisation,productivityand margin at a granular level.
Finance atCirclisn’tthere to report what happened.It’sthere to help change what happens next.
Growth & M&A;
Playa central rolein our inorganic growth strategy, including:
- target assessment;
- valuation;
- deal structuring;
- funding;
- integration planning; and
You’llhelp usdeterminenot simply whether wecanacquirea business, but whether weshould.
Capital & funding
Lead our relationships with banks, lenders,investorsand other capital partners.
Build a capital strategy capable of supporting significant growth whilemaintainingappropriate financialdiscipline.
Future liquidity / ASX readiness
Help buildCirclinto an organisation capable of undertaking a significant future liquidity event.
That means progressivelyestablishingthe governance, reporting, controls, forecasting, financial discipline, auditreadinessand capital structure expected of asubstantially largerorganisation — without introducing unnecessary corporate bureaucracy along the way.
Technology-first finance
We believe the finance function of the future looksvery differentfrom the finance department of the past.
Circlalreadyoperatesaround a technology-first philosophy across the broader business, using our proprietaryCoreTechXplatform to orchestrate national field operations.
We expect the same thinking in finance.
You’llbe expected to aggressively use technology, automation,AIand integrated data to create a highly capable but deliberately lean finance function.
We’renot interested in building a large team to manually process information that technology should handle.
We want better information, fasterdecisionsand fewer layers.
Whowe’relooking for
We’reless interested in whereyou’veworked than in whatyou’veactually builtand achieved.
You’lllikely bea CFO, Finance Director, Head of Finance or commercially focused senior finance executive who hasoperatedin a high-growth environment.
Experience with some combination of the following would be highly regarded:
- businesses scaling from founder-led to institutional;
- M&A; and business integration;
- debt and equity funding;
- multi-entity or multi-division groups;
- technology-enabled businesses;
- field services, construction, insurance, infrastructure, facilitiesmanagementor adjacent sectors;
- private equity or institutional capital;
- IPO or ASX readiness; and
- building scalable finance functions.
- CPA,CAor equivalent qualifications would be expected, but qualifications alonewon’tget you this job.
The person matters
We’relooking for someone commercially sharp, intellectuallycuriousand comfortable moving quickly.Someone who asks questions.Someone prepared to challenge the CEO and the rest of the executive team when the numbersdon’tsupport the story.Someone who can make decisions without having perfect information.Someone who gets uncomfortable when theydon’tunderstand a number.Someone who will walk into the operation to find the answer rather than send another email asking for a report.
And someone who genuinely enjoys building.
Thisisn’ta job for the faint-hearted.
Circlis growing quickly. We move fast, challenge conventional thinking and regularly push beyond what people think is possible.There will be pressure. There will be ambiguity. There will be problems wehaven’tencounteredbefore. That’spart of the opportunity.
WhyCircl?
Circlis building a different model for field services.
We combine a national workforce, operationalcapabilityand proprietary technology to coordinate field work across Australia and Recent Zealand.
Our technology platform,CoreTechX, brings together intelligent triage, compliance, scheduling, dispatch, field execution, evidence, quality assurance, commercialdataand reporting into one operating environment.
We’reapplying technology to field services in ways that historicallyhaven’tbeen possible — with theobjectiveof creating a business capable of scaling without the traditional relationship between revenue growth and administrative headcount.
For the right CFO, this is an opportunity to influence much more than the finance department.
You’llhelp shape the company.
Equity & reward
We want our senior leaders thinking and behaving like owners.
In addition to a competitive executiveremunerationpackage, the successful candidate will have the opportunity toparticipateinCircl’sEmployee Share Ownership Plan (ESOP), providing the potential to share directly in the value we create together.
If our ambitions resonate with you — andyou’drather help build the next chapter than simply manage someone else’s —we’dlike to hear from you.
