The prospect The ACCC is seeking accomplished executives for appointment to a number of nationally significant SES Band 1 General Manager roles. These opportunities are for leaders who combine strategic judgement with delivery discipline—people who can navigate ambiguity, build trusted relationships and convert complex regulatory, policy, technology and organisational challenges into lasting public value. You will work on visible and consequential issues, often without precedent, and contribute to the ACCC’s purpose of promoting competition and protecting consumers across Australia. Working with Commissioners, the CEO and senior executives, you will shape enterprise direction, provide authoritative advice and lead substantial functions, programs and reforms.

What You Will Bring You will be an enterprise leader with a strong record of setting direction, converting complex analysis into clear choices and delivering outcomes in environments subject to scrutiny. You will bring:

- strategic leadership and the ability to anticipate emerging risks and opportunities
- a record of building diverse, high-performing teams and strengthening capability, accountability and culture
- credibility with senior stakeholders and the judgement to communicate difficult or complex advice clearly
- experience leading substantial functions, programs or reforms with strong governance, resource, risk and performance disciplines
- enterprise stewardship, adaptability and resilience through ambiguity, pressure and change
- relevant senior experience for the role or roles in which you express interest.

You will be required to obtain and maintain the security clearance specified for the role, either Baseline or Negative Vetting Level 1.
