The Opportunity

Byblos Group is seeking an experienced Group Accountant & Portfolio Analyst to join our Perth team.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this is a broad role combining multi-entity accounting with property, investment and project financial analysis. It is well suited to an accountant looking to move beyond traditional financial reporting into a more commercially focused position.

Reporting & Reconciliations

- Driving the end-to-end monthly close cycle, including GL reconciliations, accrual and prepayment schedules, and balance sheet integrity checks
- Preparing management and financial reports that translate raw data into commercially useful insight
- Building and maintaining budgets, cash flow models, and forecasting tools used across the business
- Overseeing project and job costing, including invoicing accuracy across active sites

Compliance & Payroll

- Preparing and lodging monthly BAS, PAYG, and other statutory obligations
- Acting as a trusted backup across payroll and broader finance functions, stepping in confidently when team members are on leave so continuity is never at risk
- Supporting current customer onboarding, credit risk assessment, and vendor accreditation processes
- Preparing year-end financial statements and audit-ready workpapers for external accountants

Commercial & Leadership Contribution





- Mentoring less experienced finance staff and contributing to their technical development
- Identifying and implementing improvements to financial controls, systems, and reporting processes
- Partnering with operational and commercial stakeholders across sites to resolve finance-related queries
- Contributing to ad hoc financial modelling and strategic initiatives as the business scales

What You Bring

- Degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CA or CPA highly regarded
- A minimum of five years' post-qualification experience in accounting or financial reporting
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of BAS, payroll tax, and superannuation legislation
- Exposure to job-costing or project-based accounting systems and enterprise financial platforms (e.g. NetSuite)
- A background in a commercial, industrial, construction, or mining environment is strongly preferred
- Confidence operating with autonomy, and the judgement to know when to escalate
