NewDirection Care is inviting expressions of interest from a qualified and compassionate Hairdresser to join our community on a part-time basis, working Mondays and Fridays.

About the opportunity

Working from our onsite salon, you will provide personalised hairdressing services in a calm, friendly and inclusive environment.

Our clients have diverse preferences, communication styles and support needs, so patience, flexibility and a genuine ability to connect with people are just as important as technical skill.

This opportunity would suit an experienced hairdresser seeking two consistent working days each week and the chance to use their craft in a role with real purpose. There is also the potential to include more days in your roster if preferred.

What you’ll be doing

- Providing professional cutting, styling, colouring and grooming services tailored to each client’s preferences.
- Taking the time to understand individual needs and create a comfortable, positive salon experience.
- Supporting each person’s choice, dignity, personal style and self-expression.
- Adapting your communication and approach where clients require additional reassurance or support.
- Maintaining a clean,



organised and welcoming salon.
- Following appropriate hygiene, infection-control and workplace safety practices.
- Managing appointments and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the salon.
- Building positive relationships with residents, participants, families and the wider NDC team.

About you You are a skilled and personable hairdresser who takes pride in helping people look and feel their best. You understand that a friendly conversation, patient approach and familiar face can be just as valuable as the service itself.

You will bring

- A recognised hairdressing qualification, such as a Certificate III in Hairdressing.
- Demonstrated experience providing a broad range of hairdressing services.
- Availability to work every Monday and Friday.
- Warm, respectful and adaptable communication skills.
- Patience and confidence working with people with diverse needs.
- Strong hygiene, organisation and time-management practices.
- A reliable, qualified and client-focused approach.
