The Company
Our client is a multi-disciplinary technical services provider supporting infrastructure, construction, asset maintenance, and electrical projects. Working across the full project lifecycle, from planning and engineering through to construction, maintenance, and optimisation, they partner with commercial and government clients to deliver coordinated solutions for complex projects while ensuring safety, compliance, and high performance.
The Role
Reporting to the CEO and sitting on the Executive Team, the Head of People & Safety leads and integrates the People, Culture, Industrial Relations, Safety, Quality and Wellbeing functions to support delivery of the organisation's strategic objectives.
Partnering closely with Business Unit General Managers and operational leaders across the Group, you'll act as a trusted advisor, strategic enabler and subject matter expert across these key areas:
People Strategy & Workforce Planning
Lead the Group's people strategy, workforce planning and capability building to support performance and succession.
Industrial & Employee Relations
Provide leadership on industrial relations, enterprise bargaining and employee relations, ensuring practical, compliant and commercially balanced outcomes.
Talent, Learning & Culture
Oversee recruitment, learning and leadership development, and drive culture, engagement and change initiatives.
Safety Leadership & Risk
Lead the Group's safety strategy, critical risk management,
field and electrical safety, and operational controls to reduce harm.
Wellbeing & Injury Management
Manage wellbeing, workers compensation, rehabilitation and return-to-work programs.
Systems, Compliance & Assurance
Maintain safety and quality management systems, audits and governance reporting.
Executive Contribution
Contribute to the Group Strategic Plan, support growth, acquisitions and organisational change, and advise the CEO and Executive Team on workforce, culture, safety and compliance matters.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Workplace Relations, Business, Safety or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience across People & Culture and/or Safety functions within a multi-business organisation.
- Extensive experience in industrial relations, enterprise bargaining and workforce management.
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation and safety management systems.
- Proven ability to influence executives and operational leaders.
- Experience operating as part of a senior executive leadership team.
- Strong commercial acumen and business partnering capability.
