Highly Experienced Female Support Worker

We currently provide our clients with one-on-one support services in the following:

- Daily Activities
- Social Activities
- Assisted in home living
- Community participation
- Transport
- Respite Care
- Week care and weekend care

We are looking for a Support Worker (SW) who is compassionate, hard-working and dedicated to join our team. It is a rewarding job that will give you the prospect to make a positive contribution to the community, whilst also developing personal skills.

Your key role:

As a SW, you will provide support to NDIS-funded participants, promoting choice and control whilst assisting participants achieving their personal goals.

Requirement:

- Our participant requires an experienced Support Worker.
- A health-related qualification or prior experience supporting participants with complex needs is essential.

A successful candidate must have:

- Experience minimum of 2 years
- Excellent English skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confident and a friendly can do attitude.
- Ability to communicate sensitively and appropriately.
- Understanding of safe work practices.
- Previous employment experience in the health/Disability care sector.
- Ability to work independently and accurately report back to supervisors.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.




- Experience in providing quality services that assist people to maintain their independence, dignity, cultural values and religious beliefs.
- Experience supporting participants under a Positive Behaviour Support Plan (PBSP) and understanding the importance of minimising and reporting Restrictive Practices in line with organisational and NDIS requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide high-quality support to participants which ranges in their level of needs.
- Monitoring mental health status.
- Undertake company training within the required timeframe.
- Keep accurate and detailed documentation.
- Work independently within the community or the participant's home.
- Reporting after each shift.
- Accurate and timely incident reporting in line with organisational requirements.
- Support participants to achieve positive outcomes of their personal goals as stated within their NDIS plan.
- Transport participants to a range of different services and appointments.
- Monitor participant’s health and well-being, whilst also contributing to their skill development.
- Other tasks as requested by the manager.

Qualifications:

- Support worker: At least 2 years experience (Preferred)
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- Working with Children Check (Preferred)
- NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC)




- Driver’s Licence

Experience:

- Mental Health Support Work: minimum 2 years

Requirements:

- Minimum 3-4 weekdays of availability for day, evening and weekend shifts
- Must have or be willing to obtain the following:
- NDIS Worker Check (Yellow Care)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Valid CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Valid Police Check
- Current Driver’s License, a reliable motor vehicle (including valid registration and fully comprehensive insurance)

Desirable:

- Ability to start as soon as possible
- A positive attitude
- Current Australian Driver’s License
- A personal phone to report case notes and receive shift notifications
- Be empathetic, compassionate and patient
- Must be able to establish good rapport with participants and available to assist with transport to and from appointments and community access.
