Weekday Handy Helper Wanted! Residential Aged Care, Cardiff or Waratah

Do you have a bit of free time and enjoy fixing things or getting your hands in the garden? We’re looking for a handy, practical volunteer to support our property team with light maintenance and gardening tasks in our dementia‑specific cottages.

Your tasks may include tidying gardens, pruning, minor repairs, changing light globes, BBQ checks, pressure‑washing paths, painting, and lubricating door locks.

While the focus is on maintenance, you’ll also have the chance to connect with residents, adding warmth and purpose to your visits.

Your impact

Volunteering as a Maintenance Handyperson Volunteer can be a rewarding experience, both for the people you interact with as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated. Requirements18 years and over • NDIS screening arranged and paid for by HammondCare •

Weekday role - Monday to Friday between 9am and 2:30pm for a few hours, we would be happy to discuss your availability around our maintenance managers buddy shifts.
