This is a hands-on leadership and food preparation role at Café Toro at BP Balcatta. Working alongside and supervising another team member, you'll be responsible for keeping the night shift organised and productive while ensuring food preparation, cleaning, stock and operational tasks are completed to a high standard. A major focus of this role is preparing Café Toro for the following day's trade, requiring confidence in the kitchen, the ability to plan and prioritise production, and taking pride in leaving the café fully prepared for a busy morning service.

Key responsibilities

- Supervising a team member and leading the night shift
- Planning, prioritising and delegating the night's workload
- Managing food preparation and production for the following day
- Preparing fresh sandwiches, wraps, rolls and other Café Toro food lines
- Completing vegetable, meat and other ingredient preparation
- Preparing breakfast holdings ready for morning production and service
- Completing food inventory checks and food orders




- Calibrating coffee and checking coffee quality and consistency
- Completing cleaning duties and ensuring the kitchen, café and store are maintained to a high standard

About you

- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Experience with food preparation and working confidently in a kitchen
- A good understanding of food safety, hygiene and stock rotation
- Barista experience and an understanding of coffee quality
- The ability to work efficiently without constant direction
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Reliable availability to work the advertised Sunday-to-Thursday night roster

Permanent full time employment - 40 hours per week

Friday and Saturday nights off
