About the role The purpose of the role is for the preventative maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing environment. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical principles, codes, and safety procedures. This role is responsible for working on various electrical systems and equipment at Preston and working collaboratively with the maintenance and production teams and other departments.

Key responsibilities

- Install, maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment in the manufacturing plant

- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues to determine the appropriate repairs required

- Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems and equipment to identify potential problems and prevent downtime

- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations and safety procedures

- Plan and execute electrical projects, including new installations and upgrades

- Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and engineering staff to coordinate work and ensure productive operations





- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used in the maintenance of electrical systems and equipment

- Participate in training programs to maintain and enhance electrical skills and knowledge

- Respond to emergency situations and work outside of regular business hours as required

About you

- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship and certification as an A grade Electrician

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as an A Grade Electrician

- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment, including AC motors, VSDs, PLCs, HMIs, and control circuits

- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics

- Familiarity with Australian electrical codes and regulations

- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
