Description
About the role
We’re looking for an Aboriginal Men’s Specialist to deliver a men’s healing program as part of our Family Preservation Program in Mount Druitt. This role is about creating space for Aboriginal men to lead, heal and strengthen their role within the family unit — not sidelining men from family preservation work, but bringing them fully into it.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver a men’s healing program for Aboriginal men in Mount Druitt.
- Ensure the program is place-based, community-led, and shaped by Aboriginal men in Mount Druitt — not a one-size-fits-all model.
- Facilitate safe, non-judgemental spaces that support accountability among participants.
- Strengthen men’s participation in the Family Preservation Program more broadly, promoting approaches that keep men connected to the family unit rather than excluded from it.
About you
- Identify as an Aboriginal man. This is a genuine occupational qualification under s14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
