Our vision for reconciliation is to create a culture that embraces unity and respect between First Nations peoples and other Australians. We seek to continue to foster a positive culture that facilitates equity and also acknowledges our shared history. We seek to build meaningful relationships and overall improved accountability and ownership of by listening deeply to First Nations Peoples and supporting truth telling stories.
Our commitment to improve engagement, employment outcomes and consumer empowerment are outlined in our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Attraction, Retention & Development Strategy 2021–2024. These plans highlight the opportunities available to our First Nations employees as well as our commitment to increasing cultural competence in our workplace.

· Up to 12 hours a month paid volunteer time for you to give back to community.

The First Nations Employment Register is an initiative designed to encourage and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in applying for roles at the ACCC. This register is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples as an affirmative measure under Section 31 of the Australian Public Service Commissioner's Directions 2022. As vacancies arise, we will actively engage with the register to match candidates with opportunities that align with their skills and areas of interest.

To be eligible for employment at the ACCC you must not be currently serving a Commonwealth redundancy exclusion period. Candidates who are not Australian citizens will only be considered in exceptional circumstances where the specific skills required for the role are not readily available.
Notes
- Non-Ongoing Contract Restrictions- Non-ongoing contracts for General Employment Register candidates can be offered for an initial period of up to 12 months with one possible contract extension, depending on operational requirements. The maximum total contract period cannot exceed 18 months.
- Criminal Records Check – All new ACCC employees are required to undergo a criminal records check.
- Probation - A probation period will apply to any new engagement with the ACCC.
Your registration on the First Nations Employment Register will remain active until 30 June 2027. After this time you will need to renew your registration by submitting a recent application to our 27/28 register. The ACCC will review the register when needs arise to fill positions not advertised elsewhere on this site.
