?️ We’re Hiring: Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant? Remote (Australia)

? Full-Time

? Level: Entry-Level / Junior / Associate

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, organised, reliable, and numerically minded Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant to support day-to-day accounting, financial administration, reporting, reconciliations, and finance operations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting Finance and Accounting teams.

You’ll work closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, Sales, Procurement, and Leadership teams to ensure financial information is accurate, complete, well organised, and available for business decision-making.

? Key Responsibilities? Accounts &

- Finance Administration

- Assist with day-to-day accounting and finance activities
- Process and maintain accurate financial transactions and records
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Prepare and process invoices, bills, receipts, and payment documentation
- Assist with supplier and customer account maintenance
- Monitor outstanding invoices and support payment follow-ups where required
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist with expense claims, employee reimbursements, and expense reviews
- Organise and maintain digital finance files and documentation
- Ensure financial information is entered accurately and on a timely basis

? Accounts Reconciliation
- Assist with bank and account reconciliations
- Reconcile customer, supplier, and general ledger balances
- Investigate discrepancies and identify missing or incorrect transactions
- Assist with transaction matching and financial data verification
- Review supporting documentation to ensure transactions are complete and accurate
- Escalate unusual transactions, discrepancies, or potential errors to relevant Finance team members
- Maintain reconciliation schedules and supporting records

? Financial Reporting & • Analysis
- Assist with the preparation of regular financial reports and management reports
- Prepare spreadsheets, schedules, summaries, and financial analysis
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes
- Assist with revenue, expense, cost, and profitability analysis
- Compare actual financial results against budgets, forecasts, or targets
- Assist with variance analysis and investigation of financial discrepancies
- Collect, organise, validate, and analyse financial information
- Support Finance teams with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requirements

? Month-End & • Year-End Support
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting
- Assist with accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and journal entries where required




- Support the Finance team with closing activities and reporting deadlines
- Review financial data for completeness and accuracy
- Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation when required

? Budgeting & • Financial Planning Support
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Maintain budget tracking spreadsheets and financial schedules
- Monitor actual expenditure against budgets
- Assist with cost tracking and expense analysis
- Support Finance teams in preparing financial forecasts and business reports
- Help identify unusual spending patterns, cost increases, or potential savings opportunities

? Cross-Functional Support
- Work closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, Procurement, Sales, and other teams
- Assist internal stakeholders with finance-related queries
- Follow up with relevant teams regarding missing invoices, approvals, payments, or documentation
- Help ensure financial information is communicated accurately and efficiently
- Support Finance processes across different areas of the business
- Maintain professional and constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

? Process Improvement & • Controls
- Assist with improving finance administration processes and workflows
- Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and documentation
- Support the development and maintenance of finance procedures and templates
- Assist with implementing improved financial controls and reporting processes
- Ensure finance activities are completed in accordance with internal policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality and appropriate controls when handling financial information

✅ Requirements
- Entry-Level / Junior / Associate candidate with approximately 0–3+ years of experience
- Degree, diploma, or relevant education in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Commerce, Mathematics, or a related field is an advantage
- Previous experience in accounts, finance administration, bookkeeping, accounting, business administration, data entry, operations, or office administration is a plus
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Good written and verbal English communication skills
- Robust data-entry and record-keeping skills
- Ability to identify discrepancies and investigate financial information
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Basic understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable,



reconciliations, expenses, invoices, and financial reporting
- Intermediate or advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- Familiarity with formulas, spreadsheets, sorting/filtering, PivotTables, and basic financial analysis is advantageous
- Familiarity with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, ERP systems, accounting software, or finance platforms is advantageous
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information
- Strong ethical standards and professional integrity
- Willingness to learn new accounting systems, processes, and finance technologies
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
- Based in Australia with the legal right to work in Australia
