Valiant Gold Limited is an emerging Western Australian gold company focused on advancing two proven brownfields assets in the Murchison Goldfield. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team on a casual contract basis.

Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, this role offers versatile working arrangements and can be tailored to either part-time or full-time hours depending on the successful candidate's availability and experience.

About the Role

This is a hands-on Accounts Payable role responsible for accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, payments and reconciliations.

As Valiant Gold continues to grow, this role will play a key part in reviewing, improving, documenting and implementing accounts payable processes and controls. We are looking for someone who is proactive, enjoys identifying efficiencies and is willing to take ownership of process improvement initiatives, including documenting and embedding new processes, with the support of the broader Finance team.

Key Responsibilities

- End-to-end processing of supplier invoices
- Preparing and processing weekly payment runs
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving outstanding queries
- Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding payment enquiries
- Maintaining supplier records and account details
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation
- Assisting with month-end accounts payable reporting and reconciliations
- Reviewing existing Accounts Payable processes and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Assisting with the development, documentation and implementation of improved procedures and workflows
- Supporting process automation and system optimisation initiatives where appropriate
- Contributing to continuous improvement of financial controls and month-end procedures




- Supporting ad hoc finance and administration activities as required

About You You will be a reliable and organised finance skilled who enjoys working in a team environment and takes pride in delivering accurate results.

Ideally, you will have:

- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Accounts Officer role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using accounting software (Xero experience highly regarded)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- A proactive mindset and genuine interest in process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience documenting finance procedures or contributing to process improvements would be highly regarded
- An ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend practical solutions
- Confidence to take ownership of projects and work collaboratively to implement improvements
- Experience within the mining, exploration or resources sector will be highly regarded
