The AI Portfolio Delivery Lead sits within a large enterprise Transformation function, reporting to a senior AI & Automation leader.

This role is responsible for driving portfolio-level execution, governance, delivery cadence and value realisation across a growing portfolio of AI and automation initiatives. The portfolio operates across multiple business units, with AI engineering teams delivering concurrent solutions and supporting the broader organisation to build its AI capability.

Location: Melbourne or Sydney

Duration: 6 month The successful candidate will bring solid program management discipline while being comfortable operating in an emerging technology environment where priorities can evolve quickly. They will work closely with AI engineering teams, senior business stakeholders, Technology, Security, Architecture, Finance and external partners.

Key ResponsibilitiesPortfolio Governance & Executive Reporting

- Establish and maintain central portfolio tracking across active AI and automation initiatives using Jira and Confluence.
- Lead reporting and governance activities for senior leadership forums, providing clear visibility of delivery progress, risks, dependencies and roadmap decisions.
- Define and track portfolio-wide stage-gate governance, ensuring initiatives meet relevant security, privacy, architecture and data standards before progressing into production.
- Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to track forecast versus realised business outcomes across deployed AI and automation use cases.
- Provide concise executive-level reporting that translates technical delivery into business outcomes, risks and required decisions.

AI Operating Model Enablement & Operations

- Facilitate governance workflows across the organisation's AI operating model, ensuring consistent intake, prioritisation, platform guidance and compliance.




- Support the development of AI self-service capabilities across business units while maintaining appropriate central governance and standards.
- Track capability transfer and upskilling as AI engineering teams work with technical stakeholders across the organisation.
- Monitor resource capacity and allocation across internal delivery teams and external partner engagements.
- Help establish repeatable processes and standards as the organisation's AI capability continues to mature.

Cross-Initiative Coordination & Dependency Management

- Manage cross-stream dependencies, blockers and shared risks across multiple concurrent AI engineering initiatives.
- Coordinate with Technology, Cyber Security, Architecture, Operations, Data and vendor partners to ensure shared enterprise dependencies do not impact delivery.
- Establish structured escalation pathways for initiatives encountering blockers requiring executive or cross-functional resolution.
- Maintain momentum across multiple workstreams while ensuring appropriate governance and delivery discipline.

Key Skills & ExperienceProgram & Portfolio Leadership

- Extensive experience as a Senior Program Manager, Portfolio Delivery Lead or similar, overseeing complex multi-stream digital, AI or technology portfolios.
- Experience managing multiple technical delivery streams operating concurrently across different areas of an enterprise.
- Proven track record establishing and running executive-level reporting cadences and governance forums.




- Strong experience working with senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency with Jira and Confluence for portfolio tracking, dashboarding and status reporting.
- Previous exposure to AI, GenAI, automation or emerging technology programs would be highly advantageous.

Governance, Risk & Value Realisation

- Strong knowledge of portfolio and stage-gate governance frameworks.
- Experience operating within enterprise security, privacy, architecture, data and risk frameworks.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to track business-case commitments, adoption metrics and value realisation.
- Ability to balance appropriate governance with the pace required in an emerging technology environment.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to distil complex technical delivery information into concise executive summaries and commercial updates.
- Comfortable engaging senior business and technology leaders.
- Able to translate portfolio-level progress, risks and dependencies into clear recommendations and actionable executive decisions.
- Strong facilitation skills across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups.
