This is a permanent part-time position (0.6 FTE / three days per week), based across our Geelong and Corio offices and working alongside the Transition to Work team. The role will support young people accessing services across the Barwon region through a mix of face-to-face support and telehealth.

Working with young people aged 15 to 24, you will conduct biopsychosocial assessments, deliver a range of specialist and generalist counselling/therapeutic services, build key stakeholder relationships and respond appropriately to safety and risk concerns. Your work will help young people strengthen their health and wellbeing and work towards meaningful education and employment goals.

In this role, you will:

- Deliver specialist and generalist counselling/therapeutic services through individual and group-based programs across a variety of settings to young people with diverse mental health and complex psychosocial needs, including those experiencing barriers to education or employment.
- Use evidence-based interventions to support young people in maintaining their general health and wellbeing.
- Create individualised support plans in partnership with young people, empowering them to work towards and maintain meaningful education or employment goals.
- Facilitate onward referrals where appropriate and build strong relationships with external services and community stakeholders.




- Be adaptable and responsive to community and key stakeholder needs.
- Work closely with Youth Coaches to ensure our Allied Health services are responsive to young people’s needs and address service gaps.
- Support Youth Coaches by providing relevant advice and training regarding mental health presentations as needed.
- Ensure service delivery is compliant with relevant industry body standards and frameworks.

We're looking for someone who has:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and full registration as an Allied Health professional with one of the following industry bodies are essential:
- Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Counsellor with a Bachelor’s degree or above and registered at Level 2 or above with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) OR
- Certified Practising/Clinical registration with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
- Current driver’s licence and Working with Children’s Check card (or ability to obtain one prior to commencement) is essential.
- An understanding of, or commitment to, Trauma-Informed Practice and person-centred, strengths-based approaches.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work with young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge and understanding of issues that impact a young person’s engagement with education and employment.
- Ability to be self-motivated, responsive and adaptable in an environment with time pressures and multiple priorities.

Experience in a similar role will be highly regarded but is not essential. Why Join Us?
