Macquarie Park

Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology is a well-established and highly respected private pathology practice, offering comprehensive, high-quality pathology across NSW and north-west Victoria. It is the largest private pathology laboratory in Australia and part of Sonic Healthcare group. DHM employs more than 100 pathologists who are leaders in their fields, including specialists in all the major subdisciplines of pathology.

Our practice is managed by doctors for doctors, and our success is driven by the innate understanding that Medical Leadership facilitates the highest standards of professional and operational excellence for the doctors and patients that we serve.

About the role

Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology is seeking a Full-time Specialist Anatomical Pathologist with a dedicated interest or subspecialty expertise in Uropathology to join our dynamic uropathology team, and the rest of our anatomical pathologists at Macquarie Park. As a valued member, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of uropathologists who are leaders in their field and collaborate closely with our referring clinicians. Research opportunities are also available. In the role you will

- Provide high-level diagnostic reporting across a broad range of neoplastic and non-neoplastic uropathology cases
- Have opportunities to report in other subspecialty areas in addition to uropathology
- Collaborate closely with clinical colleagues through Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, external second opinions and clinical consultations.
- Participate in the supervision and training of pathology registrars and scientific staff.
- Contribute to the department’s ongoing quality assurance programs.
- Contribute to DHM-sponsored educational programs for referring practitioners, including seminars, newsletters etc

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

- A Medical Degree and Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) or equivalent specialist recognition.
- Demonstrated expertise or a strong fellowship-level interest in uropathology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing a consultant-grade service to our referring practitioners.
