Associate Principal Trombonist -- Full-Time Orchestral Musicopportunities Sydney, NSW, AU

Job Description

Opera Australia is seeking an Associate Principal Trombone for a full time position. The audition will take place on November 12 and 13, 2026, from 10 AM to 4 PM each day. Applicants must submit their applications by 5 PM AEST on October 14, 2026, and recorded auditions are due by 5 PM AEST on November 10, 2026. This opportunity is open exclusively to Australian and New Zealand citizens, as well as Australian permanent residents. Candidates are required to prepare a set work and orchestral excerpts for the audition. The specified repertoire includes the first movement of Henri Tomasi's Trombone Concerto, titled Andante et Scherzo-Valse. Orchestral excerpts will be made available on October 15, 2026.
