Hitek Steel Framing is growing, and we’re looking for a motivated apprentice carpenter to join our installation team. This role would ideally suit a second- or third-year apprentice, although apprentices at other stages with relevant framing or construction experience are welcome to apply.

You’ll gain hands-on experience installing prefabricated light-gauge steel wall frames, floor systems and roof trusses on residential projects throughout Sydney and the South Coast.

What you’ll be doing

- Installing light-gauge steel wall frames, floor systems and roof trusses
- Learning to read and work from construction plans
- Measuring, setting out and assembling framing components
- Using hand and power tools safely
- Working alongside experienced tradespeople
- Following site safety and quality requirements
- Attending trade school and completing your apprenticeship requirements

About you We’re looking for someone who:





- Is currently completing a carpentry apprenticeship—second or third year preferred
- Has some residential framing or construction experience
- Is keen to learn steel-frame installation
- Takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work
- Is reliable, punctual and willing to work as part of a team
- Can follow instructions and work safely
- Holds a current White Card
- Has a current driver’s licence and reliable transport
- Has basic carpentry tools or is prepared to obtain them

Experience with steel framing is helpful but not essential. Training will be provided to the right person.

Schedule and work locations

- Monday to Friday
- Overtime available
- Projects across Sydney and the South Coast
- Applicants must be comfortable travelling to different project sites
