Markets Group is seeking APS4 and APS5 Analysts to contribute to the development and implementation of Australian Government policy across the financial system, retirement incomes, consumer protection, corporate regulation and the digital economy.

This is an opportunity to work on high-profile reforms, contribute to government decision-making and engage with industry, consumer groups and regulators on issues that affect all Australians.

Successful applicants will have opportunities to work on significant policy and reform projects, contribute to legislation and regulatory initiatives, and develop their skills through exposure to senior decision-makers across government and regulatory agencies.

- Conduct research and analysis to support policy development and implementation.
- Prepare briefs, correspondence, consultation papers and other advice for ministers and senior officials.
- Support the design and implementation of legislative and regulatory reforms.
- Analyse data, stakeholder feedback and market developments to inform policy advice.
- Contribute to the coordination and delivery of policy and reform projects.
- Engage with stakeholders across government, regulators, industry and consumer groups.
- Provide administration and coordination support.




- Work collaboratively to deliver high-quality outcomes in a agile policy environment.

Desirable qualifications / experience

We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, including economics, law, commerce, finance, public policy, data and digital policy, regulation and public administration.

Relevant experience in policy development, legislative reform, regulation, financial services, superannuation, consumer protection, competition policy, digital policy, payments or emerging technologies would be highly regarded.

APS5 applicants would typically have two or more years' relevant experience.

Under Section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees of the Treasury are required to be Australian Citizens.

Successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain, at a minimum, a Baseline security clearance, and will be subject to pre-employment screening checks.

Some positions may require a higher level of clearance, as specified in the position description.

This recruitment process is being used to fill an ongoing position. A merit pool may be established to fill future ongoing or non-ongoing positions, should they become available within 18 months from the date advertised.
