We are seeking people who are motivated by our purpose and who want to help shape the future of the AIHW. If you have demonstrated experience and knowledge in one or more of the following, we welcome your application:

- Analysis, insight and research
- Statistical analysis, data science
- Statistical modelling (prediction, explanation, inferential)
- Interpreting and communication data for impact

- Health informatics/terminology
- Data evaluation
- Automation and workflow optimisation
- User adoption
- Responsible AI implementation and AI deployment and optimisation
- Predictive modelling, or geospatial/GIS (geographic information system) mapping

We encourage candidates from a wide range of disciplines. This may include (but is not limited to) qualifications or relevant work experience in statistics, epidemiology, demography, database administration, data science, health informatics, economics, actuarial studies, health sciences, social sciences, data mining, predictive modelling, or geospatial/GIS (geographic information system) mapping.

We are looking for people that are resilient and can handle sensitive subject matters as some of our roles involve working with sensitive and complex matters such as family, domestic and sexual violence, homelessness, child welfare, and mortality areas.

Demonstrated cultural capability is also important to the work we do, as many of our roles engage with First Nations matters and stakeholders.

A probationary period of six (6) months will apply to any new engagement to the APS.
