Position Information

Tyalla Public School, with an enrolment of 277 students (including 36% Aboriginal students) is located on Gumbaynggirr Country in Coffs Harbour, northern NSW. Our school is renowned for its commitment to inspiring excellence, adept academic programs, and strong focus on student wellbeing, while providing extensive co-curricular opportunities including performing arts, sports, and cultural education initiatives. In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary





Demonstrated capacity to use student learning, wellbeing and school-based data to identify priorities, lead targeted improvement initiatives and evaluate their impact on student growth, attainment and engagement

Demonstrated ability to build a positive, inclusive and culturally responsive school culture through strong relationships, approachable and optimistic leadership, meaningful community engagement and initiatives that strengthen student wellbeing, belonging and success.

Demonstrated capacity to contribute strategically and effectively as a member of an executive leadership team, leading whole-school initiatives aligned to strategic directions while empowering staff, managing competing priorities and successfully balancing the dual responsibilities of Assistant Principal.

General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4.



Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching prospect.
