Our client is a leading Australian law firm with a highly regarded Commercial Litigation & Insolvency practice. Recognised for its exceptional partners, collaborative culture and sophisticated work, the team is regularly instructed on some of the market's most significant commercial disputes, insolvency litigation and restructuring matters.
With an increasing volume of high-value and complex litigation matters, the team is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its growing practice. Working closely with highly respected Partners, you will play a key role in managing complex litigation matters, developing robust client relationships and mentoring junior lawyers within a supportive, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and running complex commercial litigation matters across all stages of the dispute resolution process, from strategy and pleadings through to trial and enforcement.
- Acting in high-value insolvency-related disputes, including recovery proceedings, voidable transaction claims, insolvent trading claims and examinations.
- Representing insolvency practitioners, creditors,
directors and corporate clients in contentious insolvency and commercial matters.
- Preparing pleadings, affidavits, evidence and submissions, while developing litigation strategies to achieve commercial outcomes for clients.
- Appearing in and managing matters before superior courts and tribunals, including briefing and liaising with counsel and expert witnesses.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships while supervising and mentoring junior lawyers within the team.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 3-5 years' PAE in commercial litigation, dispute resolution and/or insolvency litigation gained within a reputable private practice environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex litigation matters and running files with a high degree of autonomy.
- Strong technical, drafting, advocacy and negotiation skills.
- Experience appearing in court and managing matters through interlocutory stages, hearings, mediations and trial preparation.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to provide strategic, practical and client-focused advice.
- A collaborative approach and a genuine interest in mentoring and developing junior lawyers.
