About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Barista to join the team at avoca beach kiosk in Avoca Beach, NSW. This is a casual position offering flexibility and the chance to work in a vibrant hospitality environment. As a Barista, you will be at the heart of our customer experience, crafting high-quality beverages and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellent service and quality coffee in our beachside location.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and serving espresso-based drinks, speciality coffees, teas and other beverages to a high standard
- Operating and maintaining coffee machines and other equipment to ensure consistent quality and safety
- Taking customer orders and processing payments accurately
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic work station, including proper sanitisation of equipment
- Engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing recommendations and ensuring satisfaction
- Managing inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups and other supplies
- Following health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Working collaboratively with team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service

What we're looking for

- Recognised barista training or certification, or proven experience working as a barista in a busy café environment
- Strong knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods and flavour profiles
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with guests
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation




- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times
- Flexibility and reliability, with a willingness to adapt to changing schedules in a casual role
- Basic food handling knowledge or a willingness to obtain relevant certifications
- Positive attitude and passion for creating an excellent customer experience
