About the role The Yard Cafe and Wine Bar is seeking a talented Barista to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Gunnedah, NSW 2380, this role is perfect for someone passionate about coffee, exceptional customer service, and creating memorable experiences for our guests. As a Barista, you will be at the heart of our cafe operations, crafting quality beverages and building meaningful connections with our customers whilst maintaining the warm, welcoming atmosphere that defines The Yard Cafe and Wine Bar.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and serving high-quality espresso-based beverages, coffee, tea, and other hot and cold drinks to our customers
- Operating and maintaining espresso machines and other cafe equipment to ensure consistent quality and safety standards
- Taking customer orders accurately and processing payments using our point-of-sale systems
- Engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing recommendations and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic cafe workspace, including the bar area, equipment, and seating areas
- Restocking supplies such as cups, napkins, pastries, and ingredients as needed throughout shifts
- Working collaboratively with other team members during busy periods to deliver efficient service
- Following food safety and hygiene protocols and company policies at all times

What we're looking for

- Previous experience as a barista or in a cafe environment is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of coffee types, brewing methods, and espresso machine operation
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- A friendly,



outgoing personality with genuine enthusiasm for creating positive customer interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Strong personal hygiene standards and understanding of food safety practices
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends as required
- Reliable and punctual with a solid work ethic
- Certification in coffee preparation or barista training is advantageous but not essential
