About Us

Claremont Yacht Club is a well-established waterfront club located on the Swan River in Claremont. With a diverse operation incorporating hospitality, functions, marina facilities and member services, the Club is seeking an experienced and reliable Bookkeeper to join our administration team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership of the day-to-day financial administration of a busy organisation and maintaining accurate, well-organised financial records.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for the Club’s day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration. Working closely with the General Manager and Office Manager, you will help ensure our financial systems, reconciliations, payroll and reporting processes are accurate, current and well controlled.

The role is approximately 4 days per week, with some flexibility around working days for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process supplier invoices and payments
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Payroll processing and payroll administration
- Superannuation and payroll-related reconciliations
- Assist with BAS preparation and lodgements
- Maintain the general ledger and accurate account coding
- Monitor outstanding debtors and assist with collections
- Reconcile member accounts and other revenue streams
- Assist with monthly financial reporting
- Prepare information and supporting documentation for the General Manager, Treasurer and external accountant/auditor
- Assist with annual budget preparation and ongoing budget monitoring




- Maintain organised financial records and supporting documentation
- Identify discrepancies and follow through to resolution
- Assist in maintaining robust financial controls and procedures
- Support the annual audit process
- General financial administration as required

About You

We are looking for someone who is accurate, organised, dependable and comfortable taking ownership of their work. Ideally, you will have:

- Demonstrated experience in a bookkeeping or similar finance role
- Strong working knowledge of Xero
- Experience with payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations
- Good understanding of GST, BAS and general bookkeeping requirements
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- High level of discretion when handling confidential financial and employee information
- Clear and professional communication skills

Experience within a club, hospitality, membership-based organisation or not-for-profit environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
