About the role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Book-keeper/Financial Accountant to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This is a broad and varied role suited to someone who is organised, accurate, commercially minded and confident working across finance, payroll, compliance, reporting and general business administration.

Key responsibilities

- Manage the full finance function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, supplier payments, banking and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow statements and internal management reports.
- Oversee general ledger management, month-end processes, accruals, journals, fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and cash flow reporting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, statutory reporting obligations and internal controls.




- Prepare and/or lodge relevant tax and payroll compliance obligations, including GST, FBT, Payroll Tax, PAYG and superannuation.
- Process weekly payroll and maintain accurate payroll records, employee details and related documentation.
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, tax specialists, overseas accountants, lawyers, customers and vendors as required.
- Supervise and support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Reception staff.
- Identify and implement process improvements, system enhancements and initiatives that improve efficiency and reporting quality.

About you
- Previous experience in a Book-keeping, Financial Accounting or similar hands-on finance role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, reconciliations, reporting and statutory compliance.
- Experience with GST, FBT, Payroll Tax, PAYG and superannuation obligations.
- High attention to detail with strong organisation, time management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with staff, customers, suppliers and external advisers.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using accounting, payroll and ERP systems.
- CPA,



CA or relevant accounting qualifications will be highly regarded.
- Experience in a manufacturing or defense-related environment is advantageous, as is familiarity with ISO 9001 quality frameworks.
