About the role
Are you a proactive, goal-driven individual with a passion for connecting with people and creating opportunities? We’re seeking a dynamic Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in driving our growth by identifying and qualifying potential leads, engaging prospects, and setting the stage for successful sales opportunities. You’ll work closely with our sales and marketing teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Capability Description
CRM Discipline and Sales Process Adherence:
Apply disciplined sales processes and maintain accurate pipeline and customer records to enable reliable forecasting, explicit handovers, and predictable revenue growth.
Level - Foundational: At the foundational stage, you use the CRM consistently with guidance. You follow playbooks and agreed steps, seeking feedback. Accurate logs and updated fields enable clear handovers and reliable reporting.
Lead Qualification and Objection Handling Fundamentals:
Identify and qualify viable prospects and resolve objections to improve conversion rates, strengthen pipeline quality,
and enable predictable revenue.
Foundational: At the foundational stage, you apply criteria and playbooks to assess fit, need and timing, update CRM, route prospects, handle objections, escalate complex cases. Coaching improves conversion quality and pipeline.
Product, Market and Value Proposition Basics:
Understand and articulate the product, market context, and value proposition to diagnose customer needs, qualify opportunities accurately, and position solutions consistently for a high-quality pipeline and predictable revenue.
Developing: At the developing stage, you follow playbooks to explain Acorn PLMS, link pains to benefits, and spot customer fit. You tailor outreach, clarify, log, escalate complex needs to build pipeline.
Prospecting and Account Research Foundations:
Research, prioritise, and qualify target accounts and prospects to build a high-quality pipeline that improves conversion and forecast accuracy.
Developing: At the developing stage, you research accounts for fit, build clean lists, and update CRM. You personalise messages, follow steps, respect privacy, use feedback to improve replies and pipeline quality.
Sales Outreach Execution:
Plan, personalise, and execute targeted outreach to engage prospects and secure qualified meetings that expand pipeline and drive predictable revenue growth.
Developing: At the developing stage, you execute sequenced outreach using talk tracks. You personalise with research and log accurately in CRM. You apply feedback to raise responses and book qualified meetings.
Experience and qualifications:
- Customer-Focused: A proven ability to connect with and engage potential customers, with experience in sales, business development, or similar roles
- Strong Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to tailor messaging to various audiences
- Organised and Detail-Oriented: Capable of managing multiple leads, tracking interactions, and maintaining accurate records in a CRM system (Hubspot experience preferred)
- Goal-Oriented:
A self-starter who thrives on achieving and exceeding targets
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with sales engagement tools and CRM software; an understanding of SaaS solutions is a plus

Compensation
One of our core values is transparency and we believe in being upfront with candidates throughout the recruitment process, to make sure expectations are aligned. This role sits within a salary range of $55,000 AUD – $79,500 AUD base salary + a variable and a 12% superannuation contribution, commensurate with experience and qualificatio
Location
We are open to individuals based in Sydney, Australia. We are an office-first company, meaning we work from our local offices the majority (if not all) of the time. Please note candidates will need to be in commuting distance to our offices based in the CBD.
