The Role The role is accountable for managing work allocation, resources and priorities to ensure business objectives are achieved within agreed timeframes. It involves overseeing complex procedural, operational, administrative, quality management and business support activities, including workflow management, planning, and the development of measurable milestones and outcomes.
The position requires accurately completing work, mentoring and guiding less experienced staff, and sharing expertise to build team capability. A robust understanding of relevant legislation, policies and strategic requirements is essential to inform advice, decision-making and service delivery. The role responds to and resolves complex enquiries, selects appropriate courses of action, and implements alternative solutions when issues arise.
Effective stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills are critical to achieving business outcomes, alongside collaboration, relationship building and constructive feedback. The role also supports continuous improvement through researching, developing and implementing business support documentation aligned with organisational requirements.
About our Team
Regional Maintenance Centre (RMC) North East is located in Cairns and will provide capability support to the Royal Australian Navy. The focus of this organisation will be on enhanced collaboration, co-ordination, workforce development and expansion to build the capability and capacity needed to meet increasing ship maintenance demands.

Security Clearance:
