Key responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision and direction to all kitchen, dining, barista and laundry services employees
- Recruit, induct, train and support staff under direction
- Develop and manage staff rosters to ensure appropriate coverage and efficient use of labour
- Monitor staff performance and undertake coaching, performance development and performance management where required
- Oversee the daily operation of the commercial kitchen, laundry, barista and dining services
- Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, presentation, portion control and service
- Ensure compliance with Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) Food Standards Code, relevant State Food Act and Regulations, Food Safety Program requirements and Aged Care Quality Standards
- Prepare and manage annual catering, hospitality and laundry budgets and monitor expenditure against budget targets
- Lead the delivery of a high-quality, dignified and resident-centred dining experience
- Supervise and coordinate cleaning staff and contractors to ensure services are delivered efficiently and to organisational standards

About you

- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary hospitality teams
- Demonstrated understanding of the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and Charter of Aged Care Rights




- Experience managing commercial kitchen budgets and financial performance with a demonstrated ability to work within budgets and manage stock effectively
- Strong communication, teamwork, conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated commitment to person-centred care and resident wellbeing
- Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or equivalent (Commercial Cookery) with demonstrated knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles
- Experience preparing meals in aged care, healthcare, hospitality or a similar setting and knowledge of nutrition and hydration requirements for older people
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office and electronic management systems
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
