Salary:
$64.71 Per Hour + Superannuation The Role
Based at our Port of Albany, this is a Permanent Full-Time role, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor the Carpenter role you will deliver a broad range of carpentry maintenance services to ensure our assets remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose, supporting the reliable operation in addition to a variety of groundskeeping and general duties.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Preventative maintenance tasks including but not limited to:
- Berth and jetty structures
- Product storage sheds
- Office buildings
- Workshops
- Secondary assets and infrastructure
- Maintain Albany Port infrastructure/assets
- Minor construction, maintenance or repair to fixed infrastructure such as fences, barricades, sheds, concreting and pathways.
- Submit detailed work requests for any asset defects identified to allow for effective capture and planning of maintenance activity.
- Ensure all work complies with WHS regulations, port safety standards, and environmental requirements.
Required
- Recognised Australian Trade Certificate as Carpenter or Carpenter Joiner
- 2 or more years demonstrated post trade experience in a similar role
- Robust carpentry maintenance and building skills
- General maintenance experience of large steel storage sheds
- Good communication skills for coordination with team members, contractors, and supervisors
- Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
- Practical understanding of WHS as it relates to the workplace
Preferred
- Operation of forklift, skid steer loader, EWP
- Current confined space entry and working at heights
- Strong concrete and form work skills
- Additional all-round skills such as Painting, Corrosion and concreting formwork skills
- Ability to read and interpret workshop plans, specifications and drawings
- Familiarity with computers and standard software including CMMS

The successful applicant must
- Have a current Western Australian driver’s licence
- Be able to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card
- Pass a pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing
- Provide a National Police Certificate that is within a 6-month period.
