Be Recruitment is proud to be working with Wellways to find their next Service Integration Lead to lead services that make a meaningful difference for unpaid carers.
Wellways is seeking an experienced community services leader to oversee the local delivery and integration of Carer Gateway services from its Nerang location.
Carer Gateway is an Australian Government-funded program providing free support to unpaid carers - people who care for a family member, partner or friend living with disability, a medical condition, mental illness, alcohol or other drug concerns, or age-related frailty.
This is an opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team while strengthening the visibility, accessibility and local impact of an important community service.
The opportunity:
As Service Integration Lead, you will oversee a team of approximately six employees delivering services including:
- Counselling
- Coaching
- In-person peer support
- Community engagement and service awareness
- Connections and referrals to other appropriate supports
You will be responsible for integrating these services across the local community and developing the Nerang location into a visible, welcoming and engaged hub for carers.
Alongside operational leadership, this is an outward-facing role. You will build relationships with hospitals, health services, community organisations and local service providers to increase awareness of Carer Gateway and strengthen referral pathways for carers.
A particular focus will be improving engagement with communities that may be less likely to access traditional carer supports, including young carers, LGBTQIA+ carers and carers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach and support a multidisciplinary team of approximately six employees
- Oversee high-quality, inclusive and person-centred service delivery
- Manage performance against contractual requirements and program KPIs
- Build strong local partnerships and sustainable referral pathways
- Increase community awareness of Carer Gateway services
- Strengthen engagement with underrepresented and harder-to-reach carer communities
- Support community activities, including Wellways’ Wonders in the Community initiatives
- Manage an operational and program budget of approximately $50,000
- Undertake local and regional travel for stakeholder engagement and service integration
About you:
You will combine strong operational leadership with a practical community-development approach.
You are likely to bring:
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams within community or human services
- Knowledge of carer, mental health, disability, family support or related services
- Strong coaching, performance management and team-development capability
- Experience working with contractual requirements, service outcomes and KPIs
- Well-developed community engagement and stakeholder relationship skills
- The ability to develop referral networks and increase program visibility
- A commitment to culturally safe, inclusive and person-centred practice
- Confidence working autonomously and representing a service within the community
- Capacity to undertake travel across the relevant service area
What is offered
- SCHADS Award Level 6 remuneration + super
- Not-for-profit salary packaging
- Meal and entertainment allowance of approximately $2,600
- Pool vehicle for work-related travel
- The prospect to lead and develop an established multidisciplinary team
- A role combining operational leadership, community engagement and meaningful social impact
If you are an experienced community services leader who can bring people, services and local communities together, we welcome your application.
