About the role

Black Star Contracting is seeking an experienced Carpenter Tradesman to join our skilled team in Darwin, NT. This is a full time position offering the opportunity to work on diverse construction and building projects throughout the Northern Territory. As a Carpenter Tradesman, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality carpentry work, contributing to our reputation for excellence in the building trades sector.

Your expertise will be valued as we continue to undertake challenging and rewarding construction projects in the Darwin region.

What you'll be doing

- Steel frame, trusses and all aspects of cladding.
- Hanging doors and installing hardware.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and architectural plans to ensure accurate implementation
- Ensuring all work complies with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
- Collaborating with other tradespeople and construction team members to meet project deadlines
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition
- Conducting site inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets specifications

What we're looking for

- Completion of a recognised carpentry apprenticeship or equivalent qualification recognised by the relevant industry body
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Sound understanding of building codes, safety standards, and workplace health and safety regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering work of the highest quality
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to varying project requirements




- Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work
- Valid driver's licence (desirable)
- Experience working on residential, commercial, or civil construction projects is advantageous
