Casual Delivery Driver & Logistics Assistant The Melbourne Deli

Location: Bayswater, Melbourne VIC Rate: $33.53 per hour (casual) The Role The Melbourne Deli is seeking a reliable and skilled Delivery Driver and Logistics Assistant to support our wholesale food-distribution operations. You will load and deliver stock to retail outlets across Melbourne, with occasional deliveries to residential customers. You’ll follow a prepared run sheet, complete delivery records and help ensure our chilled products arrive safely, accurately and on time.

Working Hours - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - Approximately six hours per day - Starting and finishing times vary according to delivery volume - Shifts are generally scheduled between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm - Approximately 18 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

Safely load and deliver chilled stock across Melbourne, following daily run sheets and driving the Mercedes Sprinter responsibly - Complete temperature checks, customer signatures, box counts and delivery photographs - Keep the van clean, organised and ready for each delivery run - Communicate professionally with customers and store staff - Report delivery issues, damaged goods or discrepancies promptly - Assist with general warehouse, stock-handling and logistics duties when required

About You

You will be

- Reliable,



punctual and able to work independently - Physically capable of regularly lifting and carrying boxes weighing 10–20 kg - Organised and accurate, with strong attention to detail - Friendly and professional when dealing with customers - Comfortable using a smartphone for run sheets, photographs and communication - Experienced in delivery driving or logistics, although this is preferred rather than essential Requirements - A valid Australian driver’s licence - A safe and responsible driving record - Availability to work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - An understanding of temperature control and safe handling requirements for chilled food - A commitment to maintaining product quality and food safety during transport

Equipment Provided - Mercedes Sprinter diesel van with reversing camera - Delivery documentation and run sheets - High-visibility safety vest
