Position Information

Manilla Central School is a proud K-12 rural school located in the township of Manilla, approximately 45 kilometres north-west of Tamworth in the New England region of NSW. As one of only a small number of split-site central schools in the state, our Primary and Secondary campuses are located approximately 500 metres apart, while operating as one connected school community.

Manilla Central School is home to a diverse K-12 student population, including approximately 136 students in the secondary setting, with approximately 36% of students identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. As an inclusive and community-focused school, every student is known, valued and supported to achieve their personal best. Strong partnerships with families, local organisations and the wider Manilla community strengthen our approach, with student learning, wellbeing, engagement and continuous improvement at the heart of all we do.

Our comprehensive K-12 setting provides continuity of learning and supports students to complete their entire schooling within their local community. A broad and inclusive secondary curriculum, together with a strong focus on literacy, numeracy and explicit quality teaching, enables students to develop the knowledge, skills and resilience required to achieve their personal best. Our learning and wellbeing programs, including Pastoral Care, PBL and Wellio, respond to individual student needs while promoting engagement, self-regulation and a solid sense of belonging.

Manilla Central School places a strong emphasis on creating meaningful pathways beyond school, supporting students to pursue further education, university, TAFE, training and employment. Through high expectations, quality teaching, comprehensive wellbeing support and a wide range of academic, cultural, sporting and vocational opportunities, we aim to develop resilient, self-sufficient and lifelong learners who are equipped to contribute positively to their community.

Our rural setting and close community connections provide rich opportunities for authentic learning and strong partnerships. Supported by an engaged parent body and wider community, Manilla Central School offers staff the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution across K-12 education and to positively influence the learning, wellbeing and future pathways of young people within a connected rural community.
