Position Information
Goulburn North Public School was established in 1877 and is situated in a stable low-growth area of Goulburn. The school will move into our 150th year of operation in 2027, and this will involve a big year to celebrate this amazing milestone. Our students come from diverse localities including farms, small villages, and the Goulburn city area. Many of the parents of current students also attended Goulburn North Public School and have a strong connection to the school and local community. Currently, the school has an enrolment of 161 students, including 14 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 7 students from non-English speaking backgrounds, reflecting the diversity of our community.
The school will also commence our new School Values of 'Curiosity, Creativity and Connection' and these values will be represented in all classes across the school including 'Northern Lights'.
This position will be within the school's existing Multi-Categorical Unit that we call 'Northern Lights'. 'Northern Lights' focuses on creating an alternative learning environment/experience for students from across K-6. The role will focus on supporting students to access the curriculum, develop independence, build positive relationships and participate fully in school life. Support will be guided by individual student needs, learning goals and personalised plans,
with a strong emphasis on developing student capability rather than creating dependence on adult support.
