Lead, Mentor & Deliver – Senior Clinical Role at SALHN!
This is a senior allied health opportunity based at Flinders Medical Centre within the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, offered as a full-time fixed-term contract. As an AHP3 Senior Clinical Practitioner, you will manage a complex clinical caseload, mentor junior staff, and contribute to service improvement within a leading tertiary hospital environment. About the role:
Reporting to the Director, the senior clinical practitioner works as a specialist member of the multidisciplinary team, providing a direct clinical service which includes assessments of infants, children and young people and their families' following allegations of abuse and neglect
Duties for the role will include:
- Providing a specialist clinical service which includes parenting, forensic and/or therapeutic assessment of children and their parents where allegations of abuse and neglect have been raised,
- Constructing high-quality comprehensive written reports for completed assessments for the Department of Child Protection and South Australian Police,
- Offering other assessment and therapeutic services where appropriate,
- Liaising with Emergency Department, Paediatric and Neonatal services in a hospital setting,
- Providing clinical supervision and quality assurance in relation to APH2 staff assessments, report writing and therapeutic interventions,
- Providing information to the management team about evidence based clinical interventions,
- Assist in evaluating service effectiveness through monitoring, analysing and overviewing current systems, with responsibility for a specific clinical portfolio,
- Observing and promoting CPS administrative and clinical protocols and work instructions
About you:
- For an appointment as a Social Worker an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers,
- For appointment as a psychologist an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification and general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia,
- For appointment as a Clinical Psychologist an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification and general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia within an Endorsed Areas of Practice,
- Demonstrated ability to independently carry out assessments and therapeutic interventions of a complex nature with vulnerable infants, children, adolescents and their families, using a wide range of best-practice models and approaches
- Experience in working with infants, children and young people and their families following child abuse and neglect,
- Demonstrated clinical experience in child protection assessments and other therapeutic interventions, including evidential/forensic interviewing (3-7-year-olds); assessments of high risk/vulnerable infants (0-24months); attachment relationship assessments and therapeutic interventions particularly with young children (0-5years)
