About the role

Turkish Pide is seeking an experienced Chef/Turkish Pide Chef to join our passionate culinary team in Woden, ACT. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise in Turkish cuisine and pide preparation. You will play a vital role in delivering authentic, high-quality Turkish dishes that delight our guests and uphold the exceptional standards Turkish Pide is known for.

This position is based on-site at our Woden location, where you'll work in a dynamic kitchen environment.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and cooking authentic Turkish pide and other traditional Turkish dishes to the highest standards
- Operating and maintaining all kitchen equipment, including traditional pide ovens
- Ensuring all food is prepared hygienically and in compliance with food safety regulations
- Managing food inventory, stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
- Maintaining a clean, organised and effective kitchen workspace at all times
- Collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and consistent quality across all dishes
- Following established recipes and plating standards whilst contributing creative ideas to enhance our menu
- Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff and apprentices as required
- Contributing to menu development and seasonal specials
- Maintaining high standards of presentation and portion control

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a professional chef, with specialist knowledge of Turkish cuisine and pide preparation
- Strong knowledge of traditional Turkish cooking techniques and authentic ingredient handling
- Experience working in fast-paced kitchen environments with the ability to manage multiple orders simultaneously




- Current food safety and hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent culinary skills with attention to detail and presentation
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Physical fitness for the demands of kitchen work, including standing for extended periods
- Positive attitude, reliability and strong work ethic
- Preferred: Previous experience in Turkish restaurants or Mediterranean cuisine
- Preferred: Experience training and mentoring junior chefs
