About the Role

As COO, you'll work closely with James to lead and develop the operational backbone of the business - logistics, fulfilment, customer service, sales support and more - building the accountability, performance and process discipline needed for the next stage of growth. You'll own budgets and cash flow visibility, drive profitability initiatives, and partner directly with James on strategic direction and where the business goes next.

You'll dig into the supply chain, sharpen supplier relationships, and build the KPIs, automation and systems that turn a growing business into a scalable one.

Your exceptional attention to detail and ownership of the operational engine room will free James up to focus on strategy, growth and the bigger picture - knowing the day-to-day is in safe, capable hands.

What You'll Do

- Work closely with the CEO to lead operational teams and drive consistent, high-quality execution
- Take ownership of OPEX and drive improvements across the whole business
- Manage budgeting and cash flow with real visibility and rigour
- Identify and act on cost-saving opportunities across operations
- Strengthen supply chain performance and supplier relationships
- Build the systems, KPIs and automation that support scalable growth
- Mentor and develop a high-performing, engaged team

What We're Looking For

- Someone who brings heart and soul to their work - genuine, honest, and sharp, with real attention to detail
- Solid business acumen and confident, sound decision-making
- Hands-on operational leadership experience - this is a "roll up your sleeves" role, not a spreadsheet-only seat
- A track record of improving processes and lifting business-wide performance
- Excellent communication across all levels of the business
- SME experience strongly preferred - you'll thrive here if you like the pace and closeness to the action of a growing, privately-owned business
- Building, trade or home improvement industry experience is a strong advantage
