Room Leader / Experienced Early Childhood Educator

Empowered Early Learning Academy – Penshurst, NSW

Empowered Early Learning Academy is looking for an experienced, confident and passionate Room Leader to join our team at our boutique, family-owned early learning service in Punchbowl.

We are looking for someone who is ready to take ownership of their room, lead their team positively and, most importantly, share our solid commitment to child safety, wellbeing and quality education and care.

About the Role

We are seeking an educator who has previous Room Leader or leadership experience within an early childhood setting and is confident in managing the day-to-day responsibilities of a room.

The successful candidate will be someone who can confidently lead educators, build strong relationships with children and families, maintain high standards of documentation and compliance, and contribute positively to our service culture.

What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will:

- Have previous Room Leader or similar leadership experience in an early childhood education and care setting
- Hold a recognised Early Childhood Education and Care qualification suitable for the position
- Have strong spoken and written English communication skills
- Be confident using computers, iPads and technology
- Be comfortable completing online programming, observations, documentation and communication with families
- Have a sound understanding of the EYLF, National Quality Standard and National Regulations
- Be organised, reliable and able to take responsibility for their room
- Confidently guide,



support and delegate to other educators
- Have strong programming, observation and critical reflection skills
- Build warm, respectful and professional relationships with children and families
- Be a positive team player who is willing to support others across the service
- Be proactive and able to use initiative rather than waiting to be directed
- Be committed to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement

The successful applicant must

- Demonstrate a genuine commitment to protecting and promoting the safety, wellbeing and rights of children
- Understand their responsibilities as a mandatory reporter
- Understand appropriate professional boundaries and child-safe practices
- Maintain active supervision and understand the importance of positioning, scanning and maintaining appropriate line of sight
- Be confident identifying, responding to and reporting child safety concerns
- Follow our Child Safe Code of Conduct, policies, procedures and risk-management practices
- Understand that children's voices,



rights and wellbeing must guide everyday practice
- Be willing to participate in ongoing child protection and child-safety training
- Speak up and take immediate action if they observe unsafe, inappropriate or concerning practices
- Understand that safeguarding children is the responsibility of every educator, every day
