Amey Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer - Engineering Team Lead to join our Albury office and play a key leadership role in driving project delivery, team performance, client relationships, and business growth across the Riverina region.

This role offers the opportunity to combine your technical expertise, leadership capability, and commercial acumen to lead a high-performing civil engineering team delivering a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and development projects. Working closely with the General Manager and broader leadership team, you will help shape the future growth of the business while mentoring the next generation of engineers.

As the Senior Civil Engineer - Engineering Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading the Civil Engineering team across project delivery, technical excellence, people leadership, and business development.

You will act as a trusted technical expert while overseeing project performance, team capability, resource management, client engagement, and financial outcomes. This is a leadership position that balances hands-on engineering with strategic operational responsibilities.

Lead and manage the Civil Engineering team to achieve business and project objectives

· Oversee the delivery of civil engineering projects to agreed quality, budget, and time requirements

· Provide technical leadership and expert advice across civil engineering projects

· Review and approve engineering designs, reports, and technical documentation

· Mentor, coach, and develop engineers and technical staff

· Manage project resources, utilisation, and team workloads

· Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, and commercial performance

· Build and maintain strong client relationships across the region

· Identify and pursue new business opportunities and contribute to winning work

· Prepare and review fee proposals and project submissions

· Support recruitment, performance management, succession planning,



and workforce development

· Collaborate with the General Manager and Operational Leadership Team to achieve strategic goals

· Promote Amey Australia's civil engineering capabilities across the market

Essential Requirements

· Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

· NER Registered Engineer

· CPEng and MIEAust (or working towards where applicable)

· Minimum 7 years' experience in civil engineering and project delivery within a consulting workplace

· Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and managing project delivery

· Strong understanding of civil engineering design, standards, legislation, and industry best practice

· Proven ability to manage project budgets, programs, and client relationships

· Strong commercial awareness within a professional services environment

· Exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills
