Job Description
THE PROJECT
Neurode Labs is building brain-computer interface technology that sits at the intersection of neuroscience, hardware, and software. We're a small, fast-moving team — and we're hiring someone to own the full physical lifecycle of our devices, from factory floor to end user and back again.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Device tracking & customer operations
- Maintain full visibility over device inventory — every headset, everywhere, always
- Coordinate pickups, drop-offs, and returns with precision
- Be the primary point of contact for users: responsive, clear, solutions-first
- Triage incoming user concerns — categorise the issue, route it to the right person, and follow it through to resolution
- Resolve issues directly where you can; escape where you can't — but always own the outcome
- Handle basic customer support via email and short calls, walking users through fixes when needed
Manufacturing & supply chain
- Manage relationships with manufacturers — primarily in China — ensuring devices are assembled, packed, and shipped to spec
- Negotiate and manage high-level contracts covering yield, quality standards, and pricing
- Source competitive pricing for components and shipping
- Manage assembler contractors for quality and timeline adherence
- Organise pre-purchases to reduce unit cost
Operations & process
- Coordinate production and delivery timelines end-to-end
- Manage replacements and handle exceptions without dropping the ball
- Continuously look for ways to optimise — cost, speed, quality
- Travel to China with the CTO approximately once per quarter (advance notice always given)
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 3–6 years of experience in hardware operations, supply chain, or logistics — ideally with physical products
- Proven experience working with Chinese manufacturers: you understand the communication style, the timelines, and how to hold suppliers accountable
- Sharp eye for contracts and pricing — you push back, you negotiate, you document
- Highly organised with a strong bias for ownership: if something's falling through a crack, you catch it
- Clear, proactive communicator — you keep stakeholders informed before they need to ask
- Comfortable travelling internationally as needed
Nice to have
- Engineering background — mechatronics, mechanical, electronics/hardware, or biomedical engineering
- Mandarin speaker (significant advantage when working with Chinese suppliers)
- Experience in medtech, robotics hardware, or consumer hardware
WHO YOU ARE
- You see problems before they happen — you know where to build in buffer, where to push harder, and why the difference matters
- Detail-oriented to a fault — nothing slips, nothing gets forgotten, nothing falls through the cracks
- You can hold many moving parts in your head at once and keep them all moving — calm and focused no matter how chaotic it gets
- High autonomy, high ownership — you don't wait to be told when something needs doing
- You work well with others: this role touches every team, and explicit communication is non-negotiable
- You're based in Sydney and want to work in person with a small, driven team
