We are seeking experienced Client Service Officers to join a customer-focused financial management team based in Newcastle West.

This role supports privately appointed financial managers who manage the financial affairs of people unable to make financial decisions independently. Depending on your allocated team, you may provide guidance about their legal responsibilities and financial decisions or assist with reviewing annual financial accounts.

The opportunity

- Contract through to 30 October 2026, with possible extension
- $40.80 per hour + super
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
- 35 hours per week
- Newcastle West location
- Fully office-based, five days per week
- Multiple positions available

Key responsibilities

Depending on your allocated team, your duties may include:
- Providing information and guidance to privately appointed financial managers
- Explaining financial management responsibilities, legal obligations and recordkeeping requirements
- Assisting managers to identify the immediate and longer-term financial needs of the person they support
- Reviewing annual financial accounts and associated documentation
- Checking that financial transactions comply with relevant directions and authorities
- Following up outstanding accounts or information
- Responding to telephone and email enquiries from managers, customers, families and other stakeholders
- Managing a caseload and maintaining accurate, secure customer records
- Resolving enquiries and escalating complex matters or complaints appropriately
- Preparing reports and updating customer databases

About you





We are looking for candidates who have:
- Robust customer service experience, particularly with complex or sensitive enquiries
- Experience in finance, financial administration, social welfare, community services, disability services, aged care or a similar field
- Experience supporting people with disability, vulnerable people or older people
- An understanding of basic financial terminology, transactions and recordkeeping
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to explain detailed information clearly and respectfully
- Strong administration, accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work within established legislation, policies and procedures
- A professional, empathetic and customer-focused approach

Qualifications in finance, social work or a related discipline will be highly regarded; however, candidates with extensive relevant experience are also encouraged to apply. You must be willing to participate in a rotating telephone roster between 9:00am and 5:00pm. Calls and team email accounts may be monitored for quality assurance and training, with participation in regular review and coaching sessions required.

The successful applicants will be subject to reference checks and may also require relevant criminal history and employment clearances.

You must be available to work from the Newcastle West office five days per week. Working from home is not available for this assignment.
